Grouting.

Contact grouting is used to fill the space between primary and secondary structural linings within underground structures, creating continuous contact between the two systems and enabling loads to be transferred to the completed secondary lining as intended by the structural design. Direct Inject provides specialist contact grouting for precast and cast-in-situ tunnel, shaft and cavern linings across major underground infrastructure projects.

Contact Grouting.

Direct Inject delivers large-scale contact grouting using specialist pumping equipment to place flowable cementitious grout between primary and secondary structural linings. Works are typically staged and sequenced around the geometry of the structure, construction joint layout and location of designed grout ports to achieve controlled and progressive filling of the interface.

Our fleet of Putzmeister SP11 pumps are equipped with portable digital grout flow meters, allowing flow rates and injected volumes to be accurately measured and recorded throughout the works. Pumping pressures, volumes and sequencing are monitored against project requirements to provide traceable records of the completed grouting works.

Services
  1. Underground Structural Linings – Contact grouting around precast and cast-in-situ tunnel, shaft and cavern linings to fill designed voids and establish continuous contact around the completed structure. Typical applications include tunnel cross passages, crossover caverns, passenger connection tunnels, shafts and underground hydro infrastructure such as transformer halls, turbine caverns and access tunnels.
  2. Unexpected Construction Voids – Targeted or high-volume filling of unintended voids resulting from incomplete concrete placement, complex geometries, construction defects or movement that has created separation around an existing structure.
  3. Decommissioning & Mass Void Filling – High-volume placement of flowable grout or other specified cementitious materials to fill redundant tunnels, shafts, chambers, pipelines and other underground spaces as part of permanent decommissioning works.

CPB
CPB Project
“I worked with Direct Inject throughout the entire delivery phase of the Western Sydney Airport SBT project. Their team played a significant role in the project achieving most of its critical portion handovers and their willingness to really become an extension of our engineering team rather than just a labour hire contractor was refreshing.”

Area Manager – CPB Contractors, 2024

John Holland
John Holland Project
“I have utilised Direct Inject on two Major Projects in Sydney and in different capacities. Firstly, PU Injection and secondly robotic hydro demolition. What impresses me the most is their no fuss attitude and commitment to getting the right outcome for their Client. In both instances they have delivered and exceeded on what has been expected. I’ll certainly be engaging their services again”

Project Manager – John Holland, 2025

JAGCON
JAGCON Project
“JAGCON Group directly assisted the head contractor CPB Contractors & Ghella Joint Venture by seconding engineering and project management personnel directly into the JV team including myself in the capacity of Construction Manager………… What really set Direct Inject apart was their flexibility. When we needed them to scale up their workforce at short notice during critical construction phases, they made it happen. Equally importantly, they could scale down when required without complications.”

Reinforced Concrete
Section Enlargement.

Formed reinforced pours provide a robust method of strengthening existing concrete structures by constructing additional reinforced concrete sections around or against existing structural elements. Direct Inject delivers these works in collaboration with our experienced sister company, EMC Civil, combining our surface preparation and remediation capability with their specialist formwork and concrete construction experience.
/Concrete Strengthening 02

Reinforced Concrete Section Enlargement.

Our formed reinforced pour strengthening services are delivered on a construct-only basis to an approved structural design. Direct Inject can be engaged early to work alongside the contractor and project designers, providing constructability input to help develop practical and buildable strengthening solutions before works commence. Delivery is undertaken in collaboration with EMC Civil and can include preparation of the existing structure, reinforcement installation, formwork and placement of the specified concrete

Typical Applications
  1. Structural Strengthening & Jacketing – Construction of new reinforced cast-in-situ sections against or around existing walls, columns, piers and other structural elements to increase section size and achieve the additional structural capacity required by the engineered design. Applications can include strengthening to one or both faces of existing walls, full or partial member jacketing and localised structural enlargements.
  2. Structural Modifications – Construction of new reinforced concrete elements as part of modifications to existing structures, including strengthening around new openings, penetrations or altered structural arrangements where additional capacity or load redistribution is required by the engineered design
/Our Services

Carbon Fibre
Strengthening.

Carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) systems provide a lightweight solution for strengthening existing concrete structures where additional structural capacity is required. Direct Inject installs carbon fibre fabric and pultruded CFRP plate systems to support structural upgrades, modifications and changing operational requirements.
/Concrete Strengthening 01

Carbon Fibre Strengthening.

Direct Inject delivers CFRP strengthening on a construct-only basis to an existing engineered design, or can support contractors where a strengthening solution is still being developed. In these cases, we work with specialist material manufacturers and the project design team to develop a practical solution, providing constructability input before completing the preparation and installation works in accordance with the approved design and nominated system requirements.

Typical Applications
  1. Increased Capacity Requirements – CFRP strengthening of existing slabs, beams, girders, columns and other structural elements where additional flexural, shear or confinement capacity is required to accommodate increased loads or changing operational requirements.
  2. Structural Modifications & Openings – Localised CFRP strengthening associated with new penetrations, openings, alterations or other modifications where the engineered design requires additional reinforcement or redistribution of loads.
  3. Structural Deterioration Issues – CFRP strengthening where additional capacity is required to address identified deficiencies, damage or deterioration within an existing structure
