Direct Inject were contacted by the builder of this high-end coastal residential address overlooking Coogee Beach. Fast flowing ground water and sand was observed to be flowing through the secant piled wall and shotcrete lining that form the retaining structure of the building’s basement and into a storage space of one of the residential units. Review of design drawings and photographs taken during construction suggested that the water path may have been through ground anchors installed at higher levels of the retaining structure and possibly through gaps at the interface between the piles and the shotcrete wall.
Injection of rapid setting polyurethane products to stem the flow of ground water ingress, make good the base of the shotcrete lining and clean up the work area by removing the build-up of sand and fines that had accumulated over time whilst the inflow had been left untreated.
Working within this environment required the same technical knowledge applied on major infrastructure projects, combined with a heightened focus on finish quality, access constraints, and protection of surrounding assets. The project demonstrates Direct Injects ability to deliver specialist injection works within luxury residential buildings, where workmanship, attention to detail, and minimal disruption are critical—reinforcing that our capabilities extend beyond large-scale commercial and infrastructure assets into high-value residential settings.
