The Sydenham Station Upgrade was a key part of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project, designed to transform Sydenham into a major interchange between the existing Sydney Trains network and the new metro system. Delivered by John Holland Laing O’Rourke Joint Venture (JHLOR JV), the works included the construction of two new station entrances, new metro platforms (platforms 1 and 2), upgraded existing platforms for Sydney Trains services, installation of new lifts, stairs, and canopies, as well as significant track reconfiguration and signalling works.
Direct Inject were engaged to complete structural crack repairs to existing platform structures and breakback and re-instate concrete surfaces to newly placed platform slabs were pours had encroached on the minimum clear opening adjacent to the railway.
